When you use the app
Your device exchanges translation audio directly with OpenAI. TwoWay’s server manages the session, sends your language and voice settings, recent conversation and terminology hints, and receives audio and text events from OpenAI. This may include personal information. Processing may occur outside your country.
What is stored
Conversation text, terminology hints and replay audio stay in app memory until the app closes. Preferences, consent and your account session credential persist. TwoWay’s server does not save audio or transcripts. It stores your verified email, sign-in records, purchase references, session usage and balances. Hosting services may retain connection and security metadata.
Retention and your account
Scheduled cleanup removes expired sign-in codes, used or expired invitations, old daily device usage, and eligible revoked credentials. We keep voice-session diagnostics (connection and start-up timing, never audio or transcripts) for 90 days, and payment, purchase, subscription, usage and balance records for seven years after account deletion, for accounting and tax. Encrypted backups are kept for at most 30 days. Cleanup can be delayed by outages or backlogs. Deleting your account removes your email, disables access and forfeits remaining minutes; financial records and a protected trial identifier remain. If you still have a subscription from an earlier preview bought directly through Paddle, cancel it first: TwoWay can’t delete your account while it can still renew. Cancel App Store or Google Play subscriptions in the store; deleting your account does not cancel them. See export or delete your account. The 90-day period begins when the session closes; diagnostics can remain longer while a session, usage reservation or provider charge is unresolved, or when records need reconciliation.
Free trials and support reviews
We use protected email identifiers to prevent repeated free trials. Another address that reaches the same Gmail mailbox may have its free trial held for review. Your account stays separate, and you can still sign in and use purchased minutes, and buy or restore packs when purchases are available. Contact support if you think the hold is mistaken; a denied request can be reviewed again. We do not ask for identity documents for this review.
We keep the protected trial identifiers and the minimum record of trial eligibility for as long as we offer free trials, including after account deletion. Our retention policy calls for deleting support messages and detailed notes 90 days after the case closes, and the minimal review history 24 calendar months after closure. Unresolved or reopened cases and justified legal or security holds are kept until they can be closed or released. Cleanup can be delayed by outages, backlogs or backup expiry.
Email and payments
Your email provider processes sign-in emails. Where purchases are available, Paddle handles direct payments, and app stores and RevenueCat handle store purchases. TwoWay does not receive your full card details. Purchases are not currently enabled in the preview.
OpenAI and Android processing
OpenAI’s API data policies and retention apply; TwoWay does not promise zero retention. Android uses Google ML Kit to estimate language labels on the device. Its SDK may send performance and usage metrics to Google.
Your choices
Pause stops microphone capture. Clear removes the in-app conversation and replay audio; remove terminology hints separately. Copies you export and records already held by providers are outside those controls. Review or withdraw consent in Settings → AI & Privacy. Withdrawing consent stops capture and further translation requests. The Android app also has account export and deletion controls. This website
This website does not request microphone access or include analytics or tracking scripts. The sample buttons play prerecorded, AI-generated audio from TwoWay’s voice model. Hosting services may process ordinary connection information.
AI can make mistakes
Translations and voices are AI-generated. Check important information. TwoWay is not a substitute for a qualified interpreter in emergencies or high-stakes situations.
